Internet Guru’s – The Gooiest Myth

Five years ago I stumbled upon IMing (internet marketing) and the trail of dis-pare was so unnecessary.

Way back then I couldn’t even spell marketing and the best training I could find was pretty bad. What most people new to the dream of making money from home fail to see is most commonly “Goo-roo’s” have spent years, hopefully, learning their craft.

The craft of separating people from their money. Hyped up claims of instant wealth or “Push button” simplicity capture unsuspecting tourist. Believe me if you’ve tried figuring this stuff out it doesn’t take long before your hard drive is busting at the seams with ebooks teaching all the tricks and tactics of the “Masters”.

But what the Guru’s don’t tell is often more damaging than people will ever believe. Just read Ryan’s revealing post if you have been suspicious about this.

So what’s the solution…

For starters what your friends need to learn is pretty common sense stuff. Business is business and until they decide to learn and study what ethical marketers do your friends will remain in money game after money game.

Here’s the cycle.

Phase One

Newbie marketer Bob trips over a get rich now advertisement. He stays up all night dreaming he’s finally found the solution to all his financial worries. After mentally masturbating over the possibility “This is the one” he plucks out his credit card and takes the leap.

Phase Two

Now good ol Bob has his shiny replicated web site and a handful of marketing training given to him from his “Guru”. Running around the net he pesters people on Facebook. Embarrasses himself a little further on YouTube. Drops a few grand on Pay Per Click and ad co-ops. With little to show for it.

Phase Three

If Bob is persistent and most likely a little Pissed he finally begins to pay closer attention to what’s going on around him. He begins to finally ask questions of himself and people he is giving money to train him. It’s in this phase dear old Bob begins to finally scratch the surface of marketing. From Direct Response to IMing the pieces finally begin to come together and working from home with “NO PAY” begins to become a thing of the past.

How long it takes to move into the third phase can take a month to a lifetime it really depends on how long before Bob wakes up from the dream.

Phase Four

Bob finally gets it and has many different web based businesses each earning more than is going out.

How Bob Finally Did It…

He learned basic web design
He learned people skills
He learned ethical promotion
He learned this is a business
